it’s pretty clear why lauren hutton is one of my favorite women, if not my favorite woman! she pretty much defines american style- classic, stylish, beautiful, elegant, refined, and you guessed it- chic!

studying my mothers vogues, harpers bazaars, town and country’s as a young child i remember the richard avedon pictures. they moved me then, they move me now. later on she was an absolute vision of complete perfection in the movie american gigolo with richard gere- sophisticated, sexy, sultry! her blond bob and those giorgio armani clothes. a major fashion moment! outrageous! unforgettable!

to top it off, she has worn my favorite things for the last 40 years- trenches, denim, tees, grey sweatshirts, chambray, navy blazers, stripes, white shirts, blue shirts, chinos! timeless, classic, american!

id like to think she’s a female version of me. ok, that’s probably going to far. ill give her muse status. but i can dream. she is the american dream!
