MOUNTAIN DREAM- Aerin Lauder in Aspen

this past week i visited my dear friend jenn and her family in boulder, colorado. every time i travel anywhere new or distinctive i always plan what my house would look like there in my head. well, my boulder home would be exactly like aerin lauders aspen home. mountain top luxurious simplicity at its finest- modern, cozy, casual, and certainly chic!

aerin’s ski chalet was featured in vogue and photographed by the very talented francois halard. architect and interior designer daniel romualdez worked with aerin on the house.

white walls with reclaimed cypress and wire brushed oak accents creates the modern and cozy foundation throughout the house. white upholstery mixed with modern pieces like hans wegner hoop chairs and george nakashima angular wood tables are the simple and clean furnishings. a neutral color palette highlighted with luxurious accents like cashmere lined coyote and fur throws. very simple, very chic, very luxurious, most importantly, very family!

aerin is a gorgeous, smart and talented woman with amazing style- classic, simple, all american and another one of my picks for a modern day swan. it’s ironic that she comes from one of the worlds most famous beauty dynasties because she wears little or no makeup and her hair is always stick straight. her look is relaxed, modern, simple and of course, chic- just like her chalet! dont forget a little little cashmere and fur- she is a park avenue princess after all.

welcome to aspen and to my mountain dream home! enjoy the trip!

this is dedicated to jenn, adam, lucy and my awesome godson, theo!
