THE GIVENCHY STYLE- Hubert De Givenchy

i was introduced to this book, the givenchy style by a comment last week on the house beautiful post of our home. very kindly the comment referenced oscar de la renta’s home in punta cana and james and whitney fairchild’s home in the hampton’s as possibly sources of inspiration. she was right, both homes have been influential to my aesthetic and look! punta cana, so much so, i’ve already done a post on it.

the third reference i was not familiar with, hubert de givenchy’s beach house in france. my obsession kicked in and i found this out of stock book on amazon. since receiving, the book has not been far from my side and at all times in my mind. thank you for the introduction.

the book follows the interiors and gardens of givenchy’s three homes in france- the all white with blue accents ” clos fiorentina” beach house on the mediterranean in the south of france (my favorite), his romantic, moated chateau, “le jonchet manor” in the touraine and lastly, his opulent and grand 18th century mansion in paris’s rue de grenelle- each so very chic, so very glamorous, so very stylish! more to come on each of these homes in future posts.

sunday’s i always post something that inspires me during the week, i’ve named this continuing feature “chic peek- weekly inspiration”. well, this book has not only inspired me it’s moved me, found a place in my soul. thank you for the inspiration.

one of the biggest pleasures i have in doing this blog is the discovery of new inspiration, ideas and thoughts. for me it’s much more than just talking about my favorite people, places and things, and all that is chic, glamorous and stylish, it’s a lifeline and a great sense of creative excitement!

please keep the comments, ideas and thoughts coming- most important, the inspiration, it is what this is all about!
