  • after i have my all white beach house in malibu next on the list will be a rustic ranch in santa barbara- rustic warmth is what i like!

    beams, stone, brick, exposed wood- i like it! distressed, aged, patinaed- i like it! a home full of depth, soul, authenticity- i like it! rustic texture, rustic warmth- who wouldn’t like it?!

    think dark exposed beams, plank wood floors, large stone fireplace, large rustic tables, bronze lanterns- lots of ivory, flax, grey and chocolate brown. lot’s of scale, not much symmetry- lived in, relaxed,worn- full of warmth!

    rustic living- casual,comfortable and cool! lot’s of texture, even more warmth- just how i like it!

    Having lived in Santa Barbara and L.a. -I only dream of living in Malibu, to no avail. However I have found heaven 90 mins from LA. Lake arrowhead. I am re-doing a 1924 fishing cottage. I have used all of these Darryl Carter and betsy brown on my inspiration board. 4 perfect seasons at 5000 ft….Lake life is the new “bu”
