one of my favorite things to do is create a list of my favorite people, places or things- so here is the mark d. sikes best of the 2012 fall collections!
my favorite collections and a few of the trends i liked, what i considered to be the best! not necessarily what the prestigious fashion editors might pick, but what i like- beautiful, classic, elegant clothes- what i think is chic!
what i liked- best in class collections by valentino, chanel, jil sander, celine and margiela- up and coming talent like alexander wang, proenza schouler, preen, joseph altuzara and anthony vaccarello- and designers in a league of their own like marc jacobs, sarah burton, nicolas ghesquiere and haider ackermann.
besides great collections, especially in ny and paris, the big news will be the reign of design duos- mary-kate and ashley for the row, jack and lazaro for proenza schouler, kate and laura for rodarte, nicola and sébastein for mugler, georgina and keren for marchesa and the dynamic duo of maria grazia chiuri and pier paolo piccioli for valentino- my favorites!
looks like sometimes two is better than one when it comes to designers, everyone should be wearing navy with black, everyone will be wearing pants (even under skirts and dresses) and to my sheer delight, i think someone has be listening when i always say “just be pretty”, because pretty is back, praying it’s here to stay!
