  2. I had been reading Carter’s book, “the New Traditional,” when i stumbled upon a late semi circular half round writing desk. As I mentioned, I’m going through a big life change, that includes selling my beloved home. I feel like going in a new direction, as I’ll be living more simply. I think I’m ready to release the color and pattern that has defined my home, and that I work with so often each day. I’m ready for a respite, to come home to calm, quiet, simple, classic whites, and allow the furnishings to be the sculpture, the “pattern” of the rooms. So, though I really shouldn’t have–I mean, I’ve not yet even found my new place–I purchased the desk at auction and felt guilty allllll day long. I came home, picked up the mail, and Elle Decor was the first thing I pulled from my mail box, and on the cover that gorgeous mid 20th Century half round desk. It has to be a sign! Thank you again for your wonderful post, Mark. We may not know one another, but your find blog gives me a nice lift, each and everyday.
