TOMBOY CHIC

when i found this book, tomboy style by lizzie garrett mettler, i found an affirmation, a confirmation, a visual of this style that i’ve always defined as all- american with a french twist! not only this style but the spirit, confidence, personality that supersedes the look- i love much more than what i know now as tomboy style, i love the women that define this look, the women featured in the book!

you all know how much i love lauren hutton, tilda swinton, audrey hepburn, carolyn bessette kennedy, i’ve featured all them in posts about my favorite women, some of my favorite posts too! guess what? they are all in this book, along with other women i love- ali macgraw, princess caroline, jane birkin, francois hardy, katharine hepburn, marina munoz.

i never really thought about it before but it’s very simple- i love tomboy style! that look that blurs the line between masculine and feminine! the simple notion of woman wearing men’s clothing- navy blazers, stripes, blue shirts, jeans, chambray, grey sweatshirts, chinos- all the things i love!

what all these women have is style! the way they wear my favorite things- the accessories or lack of, the sun kissed skin, the flowing hair! classic, natural, simple, casual, very sexy- so chic!

tomboy style- my favorite look! get the book, get the look! a sunday book club love!

  1. mark,
I love that you properly resource all your photographs. I hope other bloggers learn that “via where ever they picked it up” is not a proper credit – in fact its cheating.

I know it can be a bit time consuming but indicates you are a pro and separates you from the others.
    Well done!
    Kel.
