I love everything blue! So what better way to celebrate the blogs 1 year anniversary than with a book by the same name- snowdon blue (watch this).

a book of photographs by anthony armstrong jones , the first earl of snowdon, simply known as snowdon, a dashing photographer and filmmaker that was once married to princess margaret, the glamorous sister of queen elizabeth II.

he has quite a range with his photography but he is best known for his portrait work. his archive of portraits is an expression of his enduring interest in people from all walks of life-  celebrated actors, art world giants, royalty, political leaders, top fashion designers, literary luminaries and pop stars- even nancy reagan, my partner michael’s favorite!

snowdon’s favorite color is blue and he often asks his subject to bring something blue to wear for their session, however, if they were being shot at his studio most of the time he requests the subject to change into one of his many blue shirts or to go and get one of their own if they were being shot in their home. he feels there is something about a blue shirt that puts everyone at ease and makes them feel more relaxed- there’s something about the color blue!

as  i reflect on the last year of the blog, which began as a personal journal on what i like, i’m amazed it has turned out to be something a lot of people enjoy! besides getting more than 2000 visits a day, almost 1000 subscribers, 4000 pinterest followers, over 500 facebook likes, almost 500 twitter followers not much has changed- I still love denim head to toe, a blue and white stripe, a blue Oxford shirt, a navy blazer, anything in chambray, a robins egg blue room and Chinese blue and white garden stools! i still love everything blue!

When I launched the blog last september I was visiting my family the day of the first post, ironically and not planned, a year later, I’m also visiting my family. besides this, i can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a book for sunday book club- snowdon blue! these beautiful portraits represent a celebration of chic people, glamorous places, stylish things and everything blue! enjoy!
