i’ve always been a fan of jackie onassis, however, since i’ve started the blog i’ve become more intrigued with her style, beauty and life! there are so many periods of her life, so many pictures, so many books, especially with all the media outlets it’s hard to find something new!
i’m also a fan of ron galella’s photography. i guess you can say he ushered in paparazzi photography in the 70′s and 80′s. i would never want anyone to think i condone or support the invasion of paparazzi into peoples lives because i don’t, but there was a time when it was chic!
what i’m loving today for sunday book club is the vintage book jacqueline by ron galella- these two worlds colliding! most of these images have been seen before, however, i’ve never seen them all in one book. the book wasn’t easy to come by so i though i’d share a few of my favorite images.
most of the pictures are of jackie’s life in nyc while married to aristotle onassis- walking down the street or in central park, riding bikes with john jr., riding horses with caroline, lunches and dinners at la cote basque, happy times, sad times- the best of times!
jackie was and still is the definition of chic. these images capture the real jackie, they also capture a time when paparazzi was chic!
note- a new book called jackie: my obsession which is a sequel of sorts to jacqueline by ron galella is coming out this november.

I always enoy pictures of jackie. her style is forever inspiring.
I really enjoyed the book, ‘Come to the edge’, by christina haag, former girlfriend of john jr. while it was about christina’s love affair with john, it also was a glimpse into jackie’s life from an angle completely unfamiliar to me.
