Charlotte Moss’ new book a visual life – scrapbooks, collages and inspirations, is an absolute feast for the eyes. i just got it last week and literally i think i it’s been near my side ever since. a curation of interiors, taste- makers, gardens and travel images beautifully and artfully arranged- everything i love!
for years and years i used to make inspiration boards, we called them mood boards, when i was in the retail world. i would tear, pin and glue fashion, interior and travel images onto boards from my library of books and magazines to create a visual for a particular season. now as an interior designer i do the same for my clients when i’m presenting inspiration for their homes, however, i never thought about creating a book about his process- brilliant!
i often tease my friends that if the election this coming week doesn’t turn out like i want i’m heading to paris. now that this book, my new best friend, has entered my life i’m torn between france and italy- my two favorite countries, however, now i think i will see them differently than before- scrapbooks and collages will be in my mind.
“when you travel the world, you must look and see: many people look but they don’t see. They are always worried about the time of their flight, that the food is weird. They should forget such things and just get on and enjoy traveling and try to learn somethings new.” might i add- they should remember their travels by creating scrapbooks, collages or what i like to call mood boards- a feast for the eyes!

I just saw charlotte in high point and went to the lecture she gave. i was smitten with the new book, but didn’t have time to stay and wait for her to sign a copy. luckily, upon my return home, one king’s lane was selling it, signed! natch, i bought a copy.
