when i think of the ideal place to visit during the holidays- i think of aspen! when i think of the ideal place to stay in aspen- i think of charlotte moss’ hideaway in aspen!

how could i not? i love all the red, especially the brunschwig & fils covered banquettes in the living room, mixed with kilim, tapestries, paisleys, and plaids. throw in some wicker, fur throws, chinoiserie, blue and white and animal print and i’m in heaven- holiday heaven!

can’t you just see a huge glimmering christmas tree, garland on the mantle, potted red amaryllis, huge arrangements of magnolia leaves in the living room? potted paperwhites and myrtle topiaries in mercury glass cachepots in the dining room? and pretty much a roaring fire in every room? i can!

i love charlotte’s quote in elle decor, ” you decorate the way you decorate, wherever you might live. some people do the whole western thing and it looks fantastic; i don’t.” i concur!

when i think of the ideal place to spend the holiday, it’s always aspen! charlotte moss’ kind of aspen! aspen heaven!
