jennifer scully, one of my dearest friends and a member of my upcoming style council, called me a few days ago and told me about her sons school, Sacred Heart Schools Atherton, upcoming 34th annual auction fundraiser called “midnight in marrakech.” more than 600 guests are expected to attend and proceeds from the event’s live and silent auctions will benefit the schools arts, sciences and sport programs. now the big question- what to wear?
first you need inspiration- i immediately thought of the recent town & country story featuring aerin lauder in morocco. aerin’s effortless style always inspires! then i thought of marella agnelli’s more than chic home in marrakech- i can’t think of a more beautiful destination in morocco! aerin and marella- i can’t think of better inspiration!
all that’s left now is what to wear? that’s easy- caftan’s, peasant skirts, tunics, palazzo pants, nehru collared jackets, and long flowing patio dresses in ivory, black or a bright color, lot’s of embroidery, gold jewelry and strappy gladiators- so chic, so effortless, so marrakech! and if you really want to go all out, add an exotic flower in your hair or do a turban- actually, turbans are quite the chic trend now!
aerin, marella, the row and valentino fall 2012 and spring 2013 collections take us to marrakech- enjoy the trip, welcome the journey, take in the chic inspiration, and remember what i always say, “keep it simple and just be pretty!”
The 34th annual auction fundraiser for Sacred Heart Schools Atherton, “Midnight in Marrakech”, is being be co-chaired by Holly Depatie, Mindy Rogers and Carley Rydberg- Thank you for all your hard work!
