a few weeks ago i did a sunday book club post on an old favorite book that i found up on a book shelf- bright young things. sitting right next to it was it’s sister bright young things london- i couldn’t resist!
bright young things london, like its older sister, is an “it” list of bright and young socialites, artists, athletes, musicians and entrepreneurs, however, this time in london. brooke de ocampo moved to london with her dashing Argentinian financier husband emilio de ocampo and their four children soon after she published bright young things the first edition – doesn’t it all sound so glamorous? seemed fitting and smart to do a similar version of the book on her new city.
not soon after they settled in london the de ocampo family moved back to emilio’s home in argentina. not long after that a divorce and brooke was briefly back in nyc and now i hear permanently back in london with very short hair.
i also hear brooke reads the blog. brooke- i have a great idea, i think there should be a follow up version to both books. i’m sure we’d all love to find out what has happened to all the bright young things over the last 15 years- i’m sure like hers and have you heard Tamara and Matthew Mellon’s? there are many more fascinating and glamorous stories!
enjoy! all photographs by jonathan becker- more on him very soon!

THE NOSTALGIA! GOOD WAY TO START THE WEEK.
I Love “Bright young thinGs” but, alas, so much has changed since………..
I totally agree a new book would be really super actually on both cities I still browse through both my books regularly what a feast for the style senses.
