COUTURE PARTY- Valentino Fall 2013 Couture

last week was fall 2013 couture week in paris. the french were celebrating couture, we were celebrating our independence day!

i know, i know, there are so many fashion shows and so many seasons to keep up with. between ready-to-wear, couture, the new focus on resort and pre-fall, women’s and don’t forget men’s- it can be too much! well, let me make it easy for you, the only fall 2103 couture show you need to know about was the valentino show- a reason to throw a party, a reason for us all to celebrate!

and quite the party it was. the night before the show mr. valentino himself threw a party at his chic chateau outside of france- chateau de wideville. the dinner and party was in honor of anna wintour. of course everyone was there, or at least everyone that is chic! my favorite thing was the table setting- loved the blue and white place settings mixed with potted flowers- that’s usually my trick! nice to see mr. valentino agrees.

the next day was all about beautiful couture clothes, somehow, the design duo of maria grazia chiuri and pierpaolo piccioli made camel, brown, black, tweed and herringbone look and feel like something to have now (watch the runway show here). when i do my fashion show recaps i usually feature several collections, not needed, nothing compared or was even the same category as the valentino show.

it’s boiling hot pretty much everywhere right now, however, camel looks and feels right, and after yesterdays post you all know i am into neutral territory! well, it is valentino, not much that they do that isn’t right, and they sure know how to throw a party- a couture party! time to celebrate!
