LYFORD LOVE

michael and are about to head up to napa for a long labor day weekend to celebrate a dear friends birthday, and boy am i’m looking forward to it!

something else i’m looking forward to is possibly going to lyford cay the first of next year, i’ve been invited, let’s see what happens.  lyford cay is a very private gated community in the bahamas. babe paley, prince rainier, and sean connery have all had homes there- it’s very, very chic!

the reason this fabulous destination is top of mind is that tom scheerer decorated the lyford cay club. i’ve always been smitten with the interiors ever since i saw it a few years ago in town & country. that lobby is one of my favorite rooms of all time- that’s a room i can’t get enough of and i can’t wait to see it!

tom scheerer’s new book, tom scheerer decorates, is coming out soon (it’s fabulous by the way!) and if you follow a lot of blogs you already know this. tom’s book launch has been a tour de force and it has made me want to visit lyford cay even more. don’t you? enjoy!

  1. So jealous here. You will love Lyford Cay. It is small and beautiful and everyone dresses as chic aS dressy sport clothes can be. Tennis is good, too. Go eat at the harbour masters little Dining shop if you have time. It is like a little diner and all the captains eat there, sometimes with the owners. Sigh. Can’t wait for the pics

  3. So elegant, old school. Love that Tom Scheerer Loves Pecky Cypress. My husband rescused three rooms of pecky paneling from his family’s old florida home before it was torn down. It now adds old soul to our house in the mountains. Tom’s blend of old and new, and is recent quote “elegance is economy” are just the ticket for me.:)
