Céline’s Basquait

a few days ago phoebe philo sent out a spring 2014 fashion show in paris that felt more like a revolution than a collection. céline known for being simple, clean, modern, and full of restraint, all of sudden was all about bold color, bright graphics and clashing prints.

i couldn’t help but see the influence of art. if i was in philo’s head i might be thinking about jean-michel basquait, an american artist who began as a graffiti artist. basquait’s art made a statement, there was a message, not unlike céline’s spring 2014 collection.

phoebe sent out a message and made a statement- it’s time for a fashion revolution! looks like she is seeing red too!
