katie ridder’s design work feels like a breath of fresh air- doesn’t it? yesterday i brought to you part 1 of my interview with her, today is part 2- all of her favorite things!
here are a few of my favorite things about her and her work- i love her use of color and print, her fabrics are fabulous, very unique and special ( i just went to harbinger here in L.A. yesterday and picked up several more for a new project), as are her wallpapers, she has a new design Scraffito that i’m mad about, love the wave too…. her work is bright, cheerful, it has depth…the perfect mix of traditional and modern, old and new… to sum it up- it’s a delight.
katie is installing her first museum show this week with her husband, the great architect Peter Pennoyer, at The Norton Museum in Palm Beach. she is currently working on projects in Palm Beach, several NYC apartments, Westchester and Greenwich projects, and a New Jersey house for Phil Simm’s, the football player.
the project of katie’s i’m most excited about is her new home that both she and peter designed together. from the bits i’ve seen it is extraordinary. they are working on a book right now about the project. trust me, i begged for pictures, well, i guess we will all have to wait- you know the saying “good things come to those who wait!” i have a feeling it’s going be better than good, it’s going to be genius- i can’t wait!
thank you katie- i love everything you do! it’s inspiring, innovative, pretty, a breath of fresh air- an absolute delight!
