JAR

this might seem like an unconventional post since it’s mothers day today, but for some reason JAR jewelry has me enthralled.

i just got the book jewels by jar (buy here) that was published in conjunction with the met exhibit that took place recently. i never got to see the exhibit, but everyone that saw it raved.

joel arthur rosenthal (JAR), the man behind JAR jewels,  is known for his novel use of color and sculpture form. he is now recognized as one of the most significant, playful and innovation creators of modern day jewelry…

not many people know about JAR, there is something obscure and intimate about how joel and his business partner jeannet have approached their very exclusive paris based business, probably why i’m so enthralled. there is something rare, special and enduring about it, maybe this is the reason it came to my mind on mothers day! enjoy!
