i’ve been blogging a lot about white lately. i think summer just calls for white…maybe it’s because white goes so well with a tan?!
when i was in nyc last week i couldn’t help but notice everyone wearing white/ see my street white, part 1, post here…now i’ve started thinking about not only white clothes, but white interiors.
when i think of white spaces, minimal and modern spaces enter my mind, or a white wood cottage on a beach….i love an all-white space but sometimes a white minimal space can feel cold, and an all-white cottage can feel too feminine…
i started to think of the perfect all-white space for me, and in the back of my mind i remembered an amazing home in sonoma that was featured in veranda a few years ago. here it is…the home of susan snyder, photographed by laura resen. i also found some additional pictures of the home via james leland day.
i think it’s the mix of the white with the rich wood details and saddle brown leather furnishings, feels like a comfortable hermès store. i love the white wood work and white upholstery mixed with polished nickel lighting, lacquered tables, natural fiber rugs, dhurries, abstract art, photography, baskets, and of course the piles and piles of books….this is the kind of white house i’d like!
when i think of summer, i think of white….white tee shirts, white jeans, and white shirts…. and now i’ll be thinking about this house- my kind of summer white house! enjoy!
