Blair House - Architectural Digest

unnamed

As we celebrate the 200th year anniversary of Blair House, America's most beautiful guest house, we want to extend our gratitude to Architectural Digest and Amy Astley for featuring this historic residence in the November issue. It has been the honor of a lifetime for Mark and the Mark D. Sikes Interiors team to work on this special project, continuing the legacy of Mark Hampton and Mario Buatta.

Our goal in refreshing Blair House was not to completely reinvent its legacy, but to enhance its story - modernizing it while ensuring it remains a true reflection of American traditional design. This project stands as a tribute to America, celebrating exceptional design, timeless beauty, hospitality, patriotism, and diplomacy.

We want to extend our gratitude to the many vendors, artisans, workrooms, collaborators, and of course, our wonderful Mark D. Sikes team, whose dedication made this vision possible! A special acknowledgement goes to Schumacher for all of the fabrics, Samuel & Sons for all of the passementerie, Patterson Flynn Martin for their collaboration on the custom rugs, Christopher Spitzmiller for lamps, and Victoria & Son for custom hurricanes and coffee tables. We are also grateful to Tiffany & Co. for the custom Blair House china set, AERIN for the beautiful accessories, Joseph Steiert for his decorative painting, Knightsbridge Interiors for all of the drapery and upholstery, and Peacock Alley for dressing the beds and baths.

Additionally, we would like to acknowledge everyone who made this publication possible. A sincere thank you to Amy Astley for this month's Editor's letter, and to Alison LevasseurMichael Shome and Madeline O'Malley from Architectural Digest. Our gratitude extends to the teams at the State Department for their prompt efforts to coincide with this momentous anniversary, to Kathryn O'Shea-Evans for her beautiful writing, to Pernille Loof for the stunning photography, and to Mieke ten Have for her exceptional styling. We are truly thankful for everyone who contributed to this endeavor!

Beauty is a universal celebration, and we are proud to be part of a project that showcases America at its best. To discover more about this project, please click the link here or pick up the latest edition of Architectural Digest.
