Alpine Elegance
Winter has a way of softening the world. I think of snowcapped trees and landscapes of quiet shades of green and white. It is the season for rich textures, deeper tones, and an elegance that feels both dramatic and effortless. Our muse this month is iconic actress Lauren Bacall, whose presence carried that same cool sophistication.
We brought that spirit to our project in Vail, Colorado, a home shaped by the mountains around it. Inside, the palette leans into greens inspired by winter forests — mossy, spruce-like, and evergreen — tempered by the snowy light that filters through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Throughout the house, materials provide texture and warmth: mohair sofas, verdure tapestries, soft faux fur, and beautiful leathers — all enveloped by sandstone walls. It is a refined and tailored interpretation of mountain living.
December always brings us back to the serenity of snow-covered landscapes and the drama of deep greens set against them. This home captures that spirit completely: cool outside, warm within, rugged surroundings paired with interiors that feel inviting and beautifully composed.
