You know the saying “it’s always summer somewhere?" well, when you are decorating it can be. We do a lot of projects in the south and in coastal areas. The inspiration for these projects is always centered around texture, color, comfort and authenticity, the mood is easy and relaxed, the end result is always elegant and timeless. Right now on “Mark’s Desk” is the new Elle Decor (link here) featuring a recent project of ours in Palm Beach along with some inspiration by the great Bunny Williams and a beautiful palette of textures, colors and finishes that just says Summer, because, as you know “it’s always Summer somewhere!”

BEAUTIFUL THINGS
PALM BEACH PROJECT
This is one of our favorite projects in Palm Beach which was recently featured in Elle Decor Magazine. The unique thing about this project was that we did not see this house in person until the weekend we arrived for the installation. Every piece of furniture, light fixtures, yard of fabric for upholstering walls, and carpet was specified long distance. For this beautiful getaway home, I really wanted to play with pastel corals and greens, pretty shades of blues, and neutrals.
As you tour the house and read the story you will immerse into the fresh, fun, and relaxed feeling of the coast.
MDS FOR SOANE
The Lily collection created in collaboration with Soane Britain brings rattan back indoors. This line was featured for the first time in my dining room at the Kip’s Bay Show House in New York. The pieces include an armchair whose eye catching base brings to mind a rippled fabric, a drum table, and a slipper chair in the manner of American style icon Billy Baldwin.
BEAUTIFUL BOOKS
More than ever we need beauty. I always say "beauty will save the day" and more importantly "beauty is everywhere". More Beautiful is chock full of new interiors, and divided into chapters by style. My first book, Beautiful, is also, of course still available to purchase as well.

Any time I'm in Palm Beach, I always make a stop at Casa Gusto. Chris and her sons curate a beautiful space that's not to be missed. We recently selected their tole orchids for a beautiful bedside.

One of my favorite parts of my job, besides working with my amazing clients, is scheming with fabrics and one of my favorites is Fermoie. Their range of patterns and colors are beautiful and so easy to work, whether you're mixing or matching or selecting one pattern and using it on everything, it's always beautiful.

Mark Marsh is well known in Palm Beach and beyond for his stunning and historically accurate renovations of Minzer-Era landmarks. Mark provided us with a crash course in the beautiful vernacular of Palm Beach's distinct 1920's architecture. He was the ideal design partner to bring this beauty back to life.

During a recent Palm Beach project, we discovered the decorative painting artistry of Joseph Steiert. He created the most beautiful details through this project...he is a true artisan! Now, we can't think of doing a project without him.

Another one of my favorite stops in Palm Beach is to visit Sara McCann and her wonderful team at Hive. Arranged in inspiring vignettes, each piece on Hive's 24,000 square foot showroom floor is available for immediate purchase and delivery. In addition to an expansive selection of furniture and decor, Hive offers carefully chosen collections of dinnerware, stemware, flatware and table linens...they really do have everything!
