Introducing Casa Fiorentina in Dallas!
I was honored and thrilled to be invited to participate in the Inaugural 2020 Kips Bay Dallas Show House, which opened today! The living room I designed is called "Casa Fiorentina" because it is inspired by one of my all time favorite spaces: La Fiorentina in the South of France.
The fabled La Fiorentina has a rich history filled with legendary designers that played a role in its legacy: Rory Cameron, Billy Baldwin, David Hicks… even Hubert de Givenchy and Bunny Mellon are a part of the story. My interpretation of this space continues the tradition of casual ease and elegance its namesake is known for.
A magnificent custom wallpaper by Iksel Decorative Arts creates the perfect backdrop: a decadent yet airy blue and white tile motif that engulfs the space with a worldly elegance. Layered within is a mix of Italian and Portuguese antiques from John Nelson Antiques as well as pieces from my own new collection with Chaddock Home, upholstered in Schumacher fabrics, with Samuel & Sons trim. Hanging lanterns from Paul Ferrante punctuate the space. A special debut collaboration with Christopher Spitzmiller also makes an appearance, reinterpreting wicker onto porcelain vessels and brackets.
Checks, stripes, paisleys, and tile motifs play together in this refreshing and rejuvenating space that honors the essence of the timeless La Fiorentina while being reimagined with a Texas twist: welcome to Casa Fiorentina.
The Kips Bay Show House in Dallas is open between September 25th and October 25th. For more information, and to buy tickets, click here.

BEAUTIFUL THINGS
THE MARK LAMP AND BRACKETS
The new "MARK" lamp and brackets were designed with my friend Christopher Spitzmiller as a ceramic interpretation of wicker texture. I am so excited to showcase them at Kips Bay in Dallas!
MDS FOR CHADDOCK
MDS FOR SCHUMACHER
While the predominant fabric use for upholstery in my living room is a solid blue Schumacher cotton/linen blend, I also mixed in accents of fabrics from my line for Schumacher, like this Palisades Floret print, which I used on the backs of my Chaddock Bluebell Slipper Chairs.
