MDS Golden Hour
This month, I am feeling particularly drawn to the color gold. It embodies the brilliance of stars and exudes an elegance that perfectly captures the spirit of the holiday season - glistening, radiant, and full of light. Gold brings to mind the soft glow of candlelight and the shimmering reflections of crystal chandeliers, transforming any space into something enchanting. As the days grow shorter and the nights stretch longer, the stars seem to shine even brighter, reminding us that in times of darkness, light is what guides us. I always say, follow the light, and during this season, that sentiment feels more relevant than ever.
The color gold also brings to mind my mentor and hero, Bunny Williams. She is, without question, one of the finest designers, and her work continues to be a source of inspiration for me. This month, I’m honored to feature some of my favorite rooms of hers, all graced with rich yellow and gold tones.
This November, let us remember that light - whether in the form of stars, kindness, or inspiration - always has the power to guide us. Like the golden hour's warm glow, these moments of brilliance can illuminate our path. Let's follow the light and embrace its power!

Departing from convention, we set out to design fabrics that defy stereotypes, focusing on grounding solids, rich textures, small scale prints, and a timeless color palette that forms the cornerstone of every project. Additionally, we wanted to create wallpaper panels that effortlessly work back to our existing fabrics with Schumacher.

We are excited to introduce our new Orange Hill Farm Collection for Samuel & Sons! Drawing inspiration from Mark's personal country retreat and citrus farm in Ojai, California, this collection of passementerie embodies the timeless allure of country living and the vibrant beauty of citrus groves. This collection is thoughtfully divided into three sub-collections - City, Coastal, and Country - and each sub-collection is based around motifs that our firm is recognized for - the Rosette, the Stripe, and the Check.

Drawing immense inspiration from my travels in the English countryside, as well as featuring MDS signatures throughout, this collection continues to highlight traditional design and the story of color with an emphasis on brass details. The architectural elements and bespoke design lend a timeless quality to each style.
