MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL : Vol. VI
In the Mood...
These days, I'm feeling very grateful. In the midst of such a challenging global climate, I have been continuously reminded of the joy and comfort that comes from surrounding myself with beauty, creativity, and our wonderful design community. A huge highlight this month has been the launch of my new furniture collection for Chaddock. The creation of this line had me working with so many of my favorite things, and favorite people. Farrow & Ball partnered with us to lend their perfect colors to the frames of chairs and tables, I was able to accessorize the showroom with bedding from my Annie Selke line, and lighting from my Hudson Valley Lighting collection, and Iksel Decorative Arts's Canton Reverie (available through Schumacher) provided the perfect background. BEAUTIFUL THINGS
I would love to share a hundred beautiful things to shop (don't worry, keep following this newsletter and we'll get there-- endless sources of inspiration!), but for now... here are a few things on my mind...
MDS FOR CHADDOCK
Curate, Customize, Collect: this is the message behind the MDS for Chaddock line, and outlines my design philosophy for any home. This image of the "Curate" room in the Chaddock showroom shows a mix of some of my favorite pieces. On the left, the beautiful Ivy Lounge Chair & Ottoman... surrounding the Hollyhock table, 3 dining chairs, each available 3 ways. So many pieces to love, each one with a story to tell.
MDS FOR ANNIE SELKE
It's hard to pick just one style bedding from my Annie Selke collection to talk about, but this crisp and textural Sullivan Duvet Cover is what I'm in the mood for right now. I love the simplicity of the white linen/cotton fiber, accented with the raised grid element achieved through pintucked seams.
MDS FOR HUDSON VALLEY
What's better than a swing arm floor lamp? A swing arm floor lamp with not one but TWO adjustable lights. Sometimes, more is more. I love this piece. It is versatile and utilitarian, yet playful at the same time. Atop each light sits a gathered silk shade with mushroom style pleating. Here, it is shown in the Aged Brass finish.
MDS FOR MAINLY BASKETS
Having been a long time fan of Mainly Baskets, I was thrilled to be able to create an MDS Signature Basket to use in the Chaddock showroom space. It's large enough to place a potted tree, or, of course to house throws or firewood. What's even more exciting? It will soon be available to purchase on the Mainly Baskets Home website!
MORE BEAUTIFUL BOOK
More Beautiful will be available to ship September 1st, but if you place a pre-order through my website, you will guarantee yourself a signed copy, which will ship as soon as it is available. I cannot wait to share this book with you. Like my first book, Beautiful, it is full of project imagery, and this book is arranged by style rather than by color.
