From Mark's Desk
Merry, merry to all! Last month, we were honored to be featured in a Vogue article, "2023’s Latest Interior Design Trend? Matchy-Matchy Rooms" which highlighted those of us in the space who love to design mono-rooms. Swathing an entire room from top to bottom in one fabric is indeed one of my favorite tricks. Not only is it a fresh take on an old school technique, it simplifies things and allows the details and the curated furnishings to be the highlight.
Hubert de Givenchy has always been one of my greatest inspirations and his home in Venice is a beautiful example of this technique. I love the Pierre Frey fabric on everything, the splashes of red velvet, and the use of bullion fringe. The room appears to be a sitting room/study situation—a great escape during the busy holiday season. We hope it inspires you, too, to sit and take in all of the beauty this season has to offer.
