As the vibrant hues of spring emerge, we at MDS find ourselves inspired by the beauty of the season. Spring heralds the blooming of everything - flowers, colors, and beauty, making it undoubtedly the most enchanting season of all. During this month, I find myself going back to one of my favorite houses for inspiration - Oscar de la Renta's country home in Kent, Connecticut. Set on extensive grounds adorned with lush gardens and towering trees, the residence embodies timeless elegance and refined taste, mirroring the designer's own aesthetic sensibilities. I am particularly drawn to the use of Colefax and Fowler's Honeysuckle Chintz in the home, which infuses the space with bright, airy floral motifs, beautifully balanced with lots of antique pieces and intricate layering. This home reflects numerous elements that resonate with the arrival of spring.

Spring here at MDS Interiors signifies a very busy and exciting time! We are thrilled that the third book in the Beautiful trilogy, Forever Beautiful, is now available for pre-order. Additionally, we are enjoying incorporating our MDS Basics x Schumacher fabrics - offered in an array of beautiful colors - into all of our upcoming projects. As the season unfolds, let us embrace the rejuvenating spirit of spring and the endless possibilities it brings for creativity and transformation.

MDS BASICS FOR SCHUMACHER

Departing from convention, we set out to design fabrics that defy stereotypes, focusing on grounding solids, rich textures, small scale prints, and a timeless color palette that forms the cornerstone of every project. Additionally, we wanted to create wallpaper panels that effortlessly work back to our existing fabrics with Schumacher.

MDS RATTAN

In collaboration with Soane Britain, our Lily Collection was created to bring rattan back indoors! The pieces include an armchair whose eye-catching base brings to mind a rippled fabric, a drum table, and a slipper chair in the manner of American style icon Billy Baldwin. Plus, the floral fabrics are blooming with beauty.
