Lowcountry Living
There’s a stillness to October, a pause between seasons when the air feels crisp, the sun hangs lower, and nature begins its quiet transformation. We trade sandals for boots and find comfort in neutrals that echo the landscape: khaki, olive, and sun-faded green.
This month, our muse is Jane Goodall, whose recent passing marks the end of an extraordinary chapter in our shared story with nature. A pioneer, a peacemaker and a true original, she taught the world to see beauty in the wild and wisdom in simplicity. Her signature safari shirts and field jackets, both practical and timeless, feel like the uniform of the season: understated yet full of purpose.
That same spirit guided our Sea Island, Georgia project, set along a stretch of marshland where muted greens and silvery blues reflect the ever-changing light. Inside, we drew directly from the view beyond the windows, sea grass, Spanish moss, and water meeting sky, to create a palette that feels both coastal and grounded. At certain hours, the marshes themselves take on the warmth of another landscape not unlike Africa, soft, endless and alive with beauty.
We layered natural fiber rugs, weathered woods, and wicker elements with tailored upholstery, creating a refined yet relaxed feeling, much like a well-worn safari jacket. The result is a serene home that is reflective of its surroundings and a slower way of life.
This month, we honor the transition of season and the reminder that even as the world changes, the most timeless things endure: nature, craft, and the quiet pursuit of beauty.
