Introducing Casa Fiorentina in Dallas!
I was honored and thrilled to be invited to participate in the Inaugural 2020 Kips Bay Dallas Show House, which opened today! The living room I designed is called "Casa Fiorentina" because it is inspired by one of my all time favorite spaces: La Fiorentina in the South of France.
The fabled La Fiorentina has a rich history filled with legendary designers that played a role in its legacy: Rory Cameron, Billy Baldwin, David Hicks… even Hubert de Givenchy and Bunny Mellon are a part of the story. My interpretation of this space continues the tradition of casual ease and elegance its namesake is known for.
A magnificent custom wallpaper by Iksel Decorative Arts creates the perfect backdrop: a decadent yet airy blue and white tile motif that engulfs the space with a worldly elegance. Layered within is a mix of Italian and Portuguese antiques from John Nelson Antiques as well as pieces from my own new collection with Chaddock Home, upholstered in Schumacher fabrics, with Samuel & Sons trim. Hanging lanterns from Paul Ferrante punctuate the space. A special debut collaboration with Christopher Spitzmiller also makes an appearance, reinterpreting wicker onto porcelain vessels and brackets.
Checks, stripes, paisleys, and tile motifs play together in this refreshing and rejuvenating space that honors the essence of the timeless La Fiorentina while being reimagined with a Texas twist: welcome to Casa Fiorentina.
The Kips Bay Show House in Dallas is open between September 25th and October 25th. For more information, and to buy tickets, click here.

THE MARK LAMP AND BRACKETS
The new "MARK" lamp and brackets were designed with my friend Christopher Spitzmiller as a ceramic interpretation of wicker texture. I am so excited to showcase them at Kips Bay in Dallas!
MDS FOR CHADDOCK
MDS FOR SCHUMACHER
While the predominant fabric use for upholstery in my living room is a solid blue Schumacher cotton/linen blend, I also mixed in accents of fabrics from my line for Schumacher, like this Palisades Floret print, which I used on the backs of my Chaddock Bluebell Slipper Chairs.
There are so many partners I'd like to thank for their help creating this space. A showhouse truly takes a village, and I'm so grateful for my friends in this industry!
Christopher Spitzmiller creates the most stunning ceramics and I'm so excited about the beautiful brackets and lamps our recent collaboration has created!
All the upholstered pieces in Casa Fiorentina are from my collection with Chaddock Home. I could not be more honored to have a line at this esteemed furniture house!
IKSEL DECORATIVE ARTS
A huge thank you to my friends at Iksel, who created the wallpaper that set the tone for the space. The artistry involved in customizing pieces like this is breathtaking.
JOHN NELSON ANTIQUES
I cannot thank John Nelson Antiques enough for the incomparably stunning antiques I was able to use in this space. The room simply would not have been complete without them!
Thank you to Paul Ferrante for the beautiful hanging lanterns we were able to use in this space. I love their worldly elegance and the drama they add.
Valley Drapery is our go-to workroom for so many things, and this project was no exception. Thank you to the team for the impeccable upholstery, you make the vision come to life!
SAMUEL & SONS
It's all in the details, and Samuel & Sons makes that extra special layer happen every time. Thank you to the masters in passementerie for doing what you do!
The fabrics in my collection for Schumacher continue to be prints I return to again and again. I'm so proud to have such a wonderful relationship with this legendary brand!
Every time we get to use a rug from Guinevere Antiques in a project, it is a show-stopping element. Thank you for loaning us this incredible piece!
