October arrives with a calm sense of transition. Nature continues its quiet transformation from summer to fall, and with it, our wardrobes follow suit. Sandals give way to boots, linens to cashmere, and color to a palette of greys, olives, and army greens that mirror the changing landscape.

This month, my muse is Jane Goodall, an extraordinary woman whose life’s work taught us to look closely, to listen deeply, and to find wisdom in the natural world. Her recent passing feels like a reminder of the quiet power of curiosity and compassion. In her signature safari jackets, field shirts, and well-worn khakis, she embodied a kind of beauty rooted in purpose: refined, authentic, and enduring.

For October, I am inspired by that same palette and sense of ease. Think: soft grey cashmere from Toteme, safari-inspired jackets from my new favorite store RTH in Palm Springs, army green cargo pants from Nili Lotan, and basics from James Perse in tones that feel grounded in nature. These clothes carry us into fall; simple, timeless, and appropriate, for the crisp days ahead.
