September carries with it a spirit of change. The light softens, the air begins to cool, and the mood shifts from the ease of summer to something more reflective and intentional. It feels like the perfect month for discovery: for being inspired by places that blend romance, history, and soul.

This month, my muse is Yves Saint Laurent, an icon whose life and style were deeply intertwined with Tangier, Morocco. His time there gave us a vision of elegance that was both refined and exotic: ivory caftans drifting in the breeze, safari jackets worn with ease, straw hats shading sunlit afternoons, and interiors layered with restraint and richness. Tangier was his refuge, a place where beauty felt eternal.

During my own stay at Villa Mabrouka this summer, what struck me most was the role of green throughout the property. The house has backdrop of cool and serene whites layered with accents of emerald green on the woodwork, the tile and the decorative accents. Step outside and the landscape is completely lush, creating a tapestry of palms, vines, and ferns.

My inspiration this September comes from that spirit of Tangier living. I’m thinking of sun-washed neutrals, straw bags carried from the market to the sea, airy fabrics that move with the wind, and silhouettes that feel effortless but still distinct. It is a palette of ivories, sands, and greens that feel grounded yet alive, much like Tangier itself.
