From Mark's Desk
In gearing up for my trip to the UK next month, all things England have been on my mind. With plans to tour country houses and other architectural landmarks in London, I'm looking forward to being surrounded by inspiration. My new home in Ojai, Orange Hill Farm, will be heavily inspired by Georgian architecture; this trip will be an amazing opportunity to gather important antiques and capture all of the beautiful, historic details you can't find anywhere else. We're also on the heels of the joyous celebration that was the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Admittedly, I'm a royal obsessive and thoroughly enjoyed following along as Prince Louis stole the show.
On my desk right now is a scheme inspired by one of my favorite rooms of all time, the Garden Room at Winfield House. The official residence of the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom in Regent's Park, Winfield House possesses interiors with an everlasting quality and is, therefore, a constant source of inspiration. The Garden Room was decorated by the iconic William Haines for the Annenbergs in the 1960s but feels just as fresh today. With chinoiserie elements, like the green antique wallpaper sold by Gracie Studio, neoclassical doorways, and gilt accents, this room really has everything that I love. I'm particularly drawn to the soft pink upholstery, reminiscent of an English rose or a peony. I can't wait to share all that I discover on my upcoming trip. My fingers are crossed for a run-in with the Duchess of Cambridge at Wimbledon—maybe she'll wear pink!
THE POPPY COLLECTION
The Poppy Collection, named after my beloved French bulldog, celebrates timeless, all-American style. I'm honored to have the opportunity to reach the Anthropologie community and share my love of beauty.
MDS FOR CHADDOCK
More Classics, my new lighting collection, is a continuation of the first collection with Hudson Valley Lighting. It features recurring themes like painted shades and spherical forms infused with a British sensibility for a captivating second act.
